On April 16th, over 200 updates were announced for the SuccessFactors 1H Release of 2021. Since the last release, SAP has made numerous, some small — others bigger, changes to improve the overall configuration and use of features in SuccessFactors.

In this sub-blog, we will be covering the most interesting client-focused features for Recruiting, Career Sites and Onboarding.

RECRUITING

Data security

Keeping organizational data secure, and candidate profile data in particular, remains one of the more crucial topics for users of SuccessFactors these days.

To make sure that the level of password safety is guaranteed, SAP SuccessFactors enhanced the External Password Policy configuration.

You will now be able to enforce password strength onto the registration of your new potential hires and agency users by setting a minimum password length and limiting the lock-out threshold. The lock-out threshold allows you to specify the number of sign-in attempts that can be made within 60 seconds before an account is locked. Keep in mind that the enhanced external password policy only impacts new external candidates, existing external candidates that request a new password, and agency users that want to change their password.

Recruiting Posting

Being part of the Recruiting module, the Recruiting Posting feature also has some noteworthy updates. Implementation has been simplified and the use of Recruiting Posting credits has been deleted. Just make sure you have a valid contract with the selected job board(s).

In addition to this, Recruiting Posting also offers the possibility to post a job to more than one location. This avoids the need to create several job posting for different places. There is one catch however: the selected job board(s) need to support the multilocation as well. If a job board does support multiple locations you will be able to set the primary location and add additional locations.

Please let us know if you need assistance with the increased security options or the Recruiting Posting updates.

CAREER SITES

Secure career sites

In order to keep career sites secure, SAP introduced the SSL Certificate Renewal Reminders to proactively remind organizations when their career site’s SSL certificate is close to expiring and needs to be renewed. Do note that this renewal notification only needs to be used on the production environment.

SAP also added a Content Security Policy for SuccessFactors to further improve the safety of browsing your career site and protect it from malicious visits. This setting will let you control the resources that are allowed to load or display content for a web page, and is designed to guard against cross-site scripting attacks. By default, content from YouTube, Vimeo, Google Maps, LinkedIn and AddThis will be allowed, but can be expanded with other domains that clients consider as trustworthy.

Enhanced cookie management

But the biggest update for career sites is the introduction of enhanced Cookie Management Settings that are in line with the EU GDPR regulations. Both Cookie Banner and Cookie Consent Manager settings have been improved so that visitors of the public career site can customize their cookie settings. You will now be able to present a detailed list of cookies used on the career site, as well as give visitors the ability to accept or deny the use of specific cookies.

Be sure to let us know if you need assistance with the increased security options for career sites or the enhanced cookie management.

ONBOARDING

Improved user experience

Most noticeable here are the implementation of a better user interface, the ability to use the Global Navigation Menu to access the Onboarding and Offboarding dashboards and enhanced Internal Hire process.

The all new Onboarding Dashboard comes with an extended search future (prepopulated lists of names) and updated checklist tasks. You can now add a checklist item and link it to a user who needs to take action or perform the checklist task when using the Delegated dropdown.

With the enhancement of the Internal Hire Process, the existing employee data in Employee Central that are not being passed from Recruiting Management when using Recruit-to-hire Data Mapping will be retained in its original form. All fields that are passed through the Data Mapping will be overwritten in Employee Central. Fields that were not mapped will receive the values from the existing Employee Central record.

If you need any help with the improved user experience options in Onboarding, please let us know.

IN CONCLUSION

Whether changes and updates with each release are either big or small, we truly believe that these will keep on improving your user experience with the SF platform step by step.
